Shree Parbati Primary School, Manahari Tanahun

Cheltenham Bournside School (CBS), in the UK, has adopted the Shree Parbati Primary School, to support the school’s development over five years. This relationship has been coordinated by the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna. The school is located in the Manahari Tanahun district, 35km from Pokhara and on the way to Kathmandu.

Originally, the school was a basic building with a tin roof. With generous support from CBS and the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna, the school now has two classrooms. 683,377 rupees were raised for the project.

Shree Janijyoti Higher Secondary School

The Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna has funded a new block of four classrooms for the Shree Janjyoti Secondary School, at the cost of 1,700,000 rupees. Mr Keith Miller and Mrs Shanan Miller supported this project. The school buildings were old and the classrooms were not functioning. Since the completion of the new block, the school can now hold classes in a safe environment. This project was completed on the 17th of December, 2008.
