With the support of the Isahaya West Rotary Club, and the work of Prof. Tomio Ozawa, the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna has reconstructed the Shiva Shakti Primary School. This project cost 57,000 rupees. This budget has enabled us to complete five classrooms and one office. Throughout Nepal, there are many schools in need of such support. However, we are proud to announce that we have completed seventeen of these projects since our inception.
With the help of Working Group, Duisburg Germany and the German Nepal Help Association, the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna was able to build a science laboratory for Kalika High School. This building cost 450,000 rupees. We also supplied science lab equipment, to the value of 450,000 rupees, and 60,000 rupees worth of stationary. Our final contribution was to donate 16, 500 rupees to support the local scout club and the local youth club.
Alongside the German Embassy and the Lions Club of Kathmandu, the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna was able to construct the Kuldeep Lions Primary School. The cost of this project was 207,817 rupees. The school now includes four classrooms and one office, and can comfortably accommodate more than fifty students. The students who attend this school live in a remote area, and were in desperate need of accessible school facilities. The school was inaugurated on 2050/08/05. Since the renovations, the regular attendance rate has increased to 70. This project was led by Lion Sonam Sangpo.
