Cheltenham Bournside School (CBS), in the UK, have adopted the Shivapuri Primary School with the aim to develop this school within five years. This relationship was coordinated by the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna. The school is located in the Puranchaur Chaur village development, which is approximately 11kms from Pokhara. Originally, this school was a simple block building with a tin roof. Together with the CBS, we jointly raised $2603 USD for the first year. With this funding, the school was fully furnished and renovated. The fund was also used to provide scholarships to four orphaned children in Pokhara.

CBS and the Lions Club of Pokhara Annapurna officially opened the newly renovated school on the 17th of April, 2003.  Lion Bodh Bahadur Chetri, the Council Chairman, and Lion Shahebju K. B. Shah, the District Governor, were guests of honour at the function.
